In their quest for back to back first division premierships, Mildura Settlers Cricket Club have
appointed former South Australian Country representative Darren James as coach for Season
2015/16.
Darren has a remarkable resume in regards to his cricket achievements and is an accredited Cricket
Coach who has played at State and district level inSouth Australia. He brings to the club a wealth of
knowledge and enthusiasm to the role and is keen toensure that Settlers aim to continue their
success of last season.
Premiership Captain Mitch Smith will be at the helmagain. Settlers welcome the return of
premiership opening bowler Brayden Wood to the club.
The club has a great blend of experience
and youth, with former Victorian and South Australian allrounder Mark Cleary, former Innes
Medallist Richie Wyld giving some experience to promising juniors Angus Perez, Braidyn Turner and
Jack Noonan.
“Experiencing a premiership and a full year of senior cricket will be beneficial to the younger players
in the group”, James said.
An enthusiastic committee is looking to emulate theon field success of last season of a First division
premiership and Club Championship.
Mildura Settlers train Tuesday and Thursdays at theMildura Senior College commencing at 5.30pm.
All new players are welcome to attend
